Laura Yamasaki studied writing and media critique at Facets Multimedia Center, The Second City Chicago, and The Sackett Street Writer's Workshop.  She grew up in the city of Chicago and currently lives in Greenwich Village.

Laura has held positions as an assistant buyer in luxury fashion and later as an investment analyst on Wall Street.  Laura graduated from Cornell University. 

Laura enjoys handwritten notes, Dana Carvey impressions, music trivia, and Bikram yoga.  She's been commended for her poignant written birthday cards, thank-you notes, and cover letters.

Her writing inspirations include Curtis Sittenfeld, Lauren Weisberger, Tom Perotta, and Cat Marnell.  She vehemently dislikes late nite talk shows, Amy Schumer, and Buzzfeed.  

In case there's confusion: Laura is also the **talented genius** behind the Celestialuxe brand and online shop. She's just too lazy and cheap to buy a second domain.
