About the brand

Celestialuxe is a jewelry and home décor brand founded and based in New York City.  Our collections are designed and handcrafted in a 100-year old building in historic Greenwich Village, New York’s center of the vibrant 1960's bohemian culture.  

Both our aesthetic and general approach to life are deeply inspired by:

the global & decadent chic of 1970s Gypset style

wearability and casual durability of Australian surf culture and fashion

individualist attitude & unconventional glamour of punk rockers, nineties fashion icons, and rock & roll.

There are countless writers, rockstars, and artists throughout the years who have deeply inspired our core belief in creativity, individuality, and a passionate approach toward a life lived: Hunter S. Thompson; Edie Sedgwick; Talitha Getty; Courtney Love; Jean-Paul Basquiat; Joan Jett; Keith Moon; Kate Moss; Allison Mosshart; and Jimi Hendrix ...just to name a few.  Though some may not remain with us today, our admiration stems from their lasting accomplishments and their inspiration for future generations of creativity.

We cannot forget to thank writer & designer Julia Chaplin, whose Gypset ideology has hugely inspired our own approach to and celebration of the adventurous life and has led to creation of the Celestialuxe brand.  We urge our fans to peruse her beautiful Gypset series, published by Assouline and comprising several volumes: Gypset Style (2009), Gypset Travel (2012), and Gypset Living (2014).  Ms. Chaplin is also designer for the Gypset ready-to-wear line.

Our nod to the celestial heavens is a gentle reminder that a refusal to settle for the forgettable often yields the most fulfillment when carried out with the knowledge, humility and awe of our truly small place within the universe.

We take pride in creating jewelry that’s beautiful, wearable, and long-lasting.  Our carefully sourced materials range from raw jute twine and Indonesian wood beads to pink sapphires and Ethiopian opals.

Our namesake Celestialuxe bracelets have been worn to withstand Maui riptides and Pacific saltwater; music festivals under the California desert moon; downtown pavements and city lights.
